SS Channel - W3-SafeList
So many of you have been wondering what #ss is really all about, what it offers and what are its expectations in return. I'm going to try to give you the most possible honest view of how we run things around here.
First and foremost, we have a few requirements that must be fulfilled in order to get accepted into our community, as a newcomer or unknown you'd probably have some difficult time doing that, a replay that has to satisfy certain standards, act as an adult mannered person no matter what age you are, than you'd have to wait as long as some lazy moderator watches your replay and than as a final gift get an answer.
1) Post a vouch request
You can find all the instructions about here
2) Test Game - Contains info how to sign for a test game
All these things mentioned above can be dodged, in a manner of speaking, if you play a Test-Game, that we organize every now and then, unfortunately this is not as easy as it looks. For being accepted into playing a Test-Game, you'll have to also post a proper request to grant you access into the TG. Soon after that we'll set a date for the actual game.
To do that, you must have first read all the requirements and rules mentioned in this post. Once you do, post a new thread including all the elements in there together with the way it's done (proper quotations).
Additional info :
1) Every test game is observed by at least 1 safelist moderator.
2) Test games mode is '-apsp', however both teams receive already prepared set of heroes to pick. At the start of the game moderator pauses the game and tells what heroes must Sentinel and Scourge pick. During pause players have time to talk and agree who pick which hero. When both teams are ready they state it in 'all' chat and moderator unpauses the game.
3) Game lasts utill throne/tree fails, unless moderator says diffrently.
4) Results will be posted in very short time ( 1-2 days max ) in 'test games thread'.
5) Every situation that may occur during game is judged by respective moderator ( the one who observes the game ). His decision is irrevocable.
Note : It is also possible for people, who want to be safelisted, to be 'vouched' by safelist staff.Whenever someone get at least 3 votes ( out of 6 ), he will become safelisted as well, even without normal procedure( the same way someone may be 'unvouched' ).
What happens if you get added to trials?
After being vouched by collecting 3 supports, you will become a trail member. Its the test period in which we will see how do you fit in ss, and if we made the right decision by letting you in.
The trail period will last for two weeks, in which you will be expected to play at least 14 games, based on what you'll get the final decision if you are becoming a regular ss member, or not. Ofcourse, the more games you play the better, since you will prove yourself to more members who could support you and increase your chances to get approved.
How to play a game?
1. You have to .sign in order to be in the pool list of many other players, among which are a lot of trusted who would probably get picked first. In case there are none left to pick but you, the captains will take their chances and pick you, in which case you'll have to do exactly as they say, in some way it would seem as following some orders, and we all know a human male being is least subtle to suffer other human male being ordering around. Believe it or not, it is for your own good, but it's the next step that will really hit your spot. You will most probably be given a support hero to play, that means be everyone's ward *****, buy chicken etc. Some would think this is the hardest thing to do, considering you have to farm for yourself too. Wrong again, a carry, semi-carry and tank roles are much harder to be played, and here's why:
- You have to have absolute feeling about timing, probably not if it's your first game.
- For the most part, the whole game depends on you, being ganged, killed w/o a reason or simply said fail to accomplish certain item build until a certain moment/time in the game could and most probably will cost your team the game.
- A full carry has no obligation to gang, help team in early game, his obligation is to farm, and that means almost never to miss a creep, in other words have very good micro and farming abilities, this is the lowest factor of any newcomer.
Knowing this, you'll ask yourself this question "SO, when am I going to be able to play my favourite hero like spectre, razor, mortred, all of those carry heroes that you played in pubs?". Here's the average curve of how things would probably progress.
1st Month - Playing supports mostly, maybe from time to time, someone would give you to play semi-tank or semi-support, that depends on captain only. This would probably be the worst period as you have to be everyone's ward biatch.
2-3 Months - IF you manage to get that far, you'd probably earn some confidence factor among captains, you'll play support only if you want to, but may have the freedom of choice to pick a tank or semi-carry. In this stage some other newcomer would probably take your place in the 1st month period.
4+ Months - Well, depending on how much you have proven this far, this could be time when you will gain enough confidence to play some of the carry heroes, and some of the most important roles in the team.
What happens if you get denied?
We do not deny players only because we feel like it, we do it because we have taken precaution measures against ruining SS games. In case you did get denied, we'd like to encourage you to surpass that feeling of disappointment and look on the bright side, watch some competitive replays (there are a lot on ggc TV a.k.a. MYM Pryde and much more on the other leagues), take a further step into improving your skills and prove that you're indeed good enough. After you get denied you will have to wait 4 weeks to post a new request.
